Flash Friday Fiction

A Dog’s Life

The grey on his muzzle was hard won.  A working dog, Jasper kept the ranch safe, patrolling his territory daily with dogged vigilance.  Scars, flattened and white, bore testimony of his encounters with coyotes and barbed wire.   Jasper’s a little slower now, finding sunny patches of ground.  Even resting, his watchful eyes guard his universe with loyalty, love, and a whole lot of license to kill.

  1. This was another great effort, Erin. You really own the picture with your words. I have to believe that it IS Jasper in the photo. Of course, I AM a dog guy…

It is nice to comment late in the day so that I can see the comments and links from your colleagues. This Friday gig is really a good thing. You rock it.

Tell me something good.....
